Plus, Abbot Tryphon’s endorsement, and other reviews.
I was very happy to see the latest email update from Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV, in which they prominently feature The North American Thebaid. Profits from sale of the book help support the monastery.
This important men’s monastery has a thriving online store, and are known for their handmade soaps and lotions, incense and other items produced by the monks, as well as a curated selection of books, media, and gifts. One of my young friends from St Symeon Orthodox Church here in Birmingham, Alabama, is a novice there, contributing to their growing community. Their beautiful new church is nearly completed, and will enable the monastery to continue to grow and to serve the pilgrims who come on pilgrimage or as retreat groups.
Watch for future announcements should other resellers begin offering The North American Thebaid. I already know of several parishes and monasteries who are selling the book through their bookstores, and am very glad to see it find its audience. If you would like to stock the book in your parish bookstore, please contact St Tikhon’s Monastery Press.
Abbot Tryphon’s Video Endorsement
I posted this endorsement by Abbot Tryphon of All-Merciful Saviour Monastery on Vashon Island, Washington, on the Reviews page here on this website, but I wanted to call attention to it again, as some of you may not have seen it yet, and also as there are numerous positive reviews of the book in the video’s comments section.
I especially appreciate Abbot Tryphon’s embrace of the book’s potential to introduce the Orthodox Christian Faith to a wider audience. At the very beginning of his video he says, “It’s a book I think every Orthodox Christian should have displayed in their home.”
I’ll post some of the comments below the video so you can get a sense of the reaction to it. My heartfelt thanks to Father Abbot Tryphon for his gracious review and endorsement!

“Many of my friends and family are drawn to art books and photography books on castles, ruins, cathedrals, etc. They’ll easily spend $100-200 on books of this genre. How beautiful it is to see such a book specific to the living faith of Orthodoxy!” — @cliffordduhh45
